In 2010 AST Recruitment celebrated 50 years of providing quality, professional recruitment solutions to the engineering industry.
From our foundation in 1960, AST Recruitment has grown to be one of the leading and most reputable engineering recruitment providers in the UK.
We have sourced and supplied skilled and experienced staff across a whole range of industry sectors for many of the leading companies in the UK.
Over the last 50 years personnel provided by AST have made a major contribution to UK engineering in a range of sectors. Staff provided by AST have played a crucial role in the development of some of the most important areas of engineering in the UK.
The company was started as Allwood, Searle and Timney Ltd by Bernard Allwood, Jack Searle and Hugh Timney, with the primary aim of providing contract design and engineering solutions for the nuclear power station manufacturing industry.
The newly formed company quickly developed into offering recruitment services, supplying skilled and qualified personnel across the industry.
By the 1970s, AST had played a key part in providing quality personnel for many of the UK’s nuclear facilities, steel mills and automotive manufacturing plants.
During the 1980s, AST expanded to become one of the leading engineering design and recruitment specialists in the rail industry, providing a wide range of skilled personnel. As a result of the quality of service AST provided, our carefully selected candidates have played a significant part in almost every major rail vehicle developed in the UK over the last 30 years.
In 1994, AST was reformed, leading to the creation of AST Recruitment in 2000, offering a complete range of recruitment services to clients. Working in partnership with our sister company AST Resourcing, AST Recruitment continues to offer high quality, professional recruitment solutions across all sectors of engineering.
